Lani Jacobs is a professional Art Therapist with qualifications in Education, Psychology and Art Therapy and a specific interest in adolescent and adult Wellbeing and Mental Health.

She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Seaglass Wellbeing and Art Therapy from the mental health, education, and disability sectors.

Lani has an authentic and compassionate approach, supporting clients to express themselves in a safe way whilst enabling them to explore their stories. Her approach is experiential, emergent, relational and multimodal. She is an expert in the use of art as a tool for communication and connection. Lani assists clients to identify personal goals and live life to the full.

An Art Therapy session can look different for every person and is determined by an individual’s preferences, needs, interests and abilities. A variety of creative options are available and could include pencils, paint, clay, puppetry, dance, music, mime, creative writing, sand, craft, and other multisensory modalities.

Lani works from a neurodiversity paradigm and aims to listen and learn directly from clients about their personal experience to build trust and safe therapeutic relationships.

Lani is also a practicing professional artist and illustrator who focusses on painting, drawing and puppeteering. She has a special interest in creating custom resources for Mental Health Professionals, collaborating closely with providers to fine-tune Visual and Therapeutic Aides for specific purposes.
